Living By Grace Update

August 5, 2001

Bob Joyce, Pastor of Cooper Creek Baptist Church of Denton, Texas, sent the following testimony.

Through studying "Our Oneness With Christ" I am beginning to see changes in the way that I react to situations. Also, I am praying more and reacting less. God has been doing some remarkable things. Last Sunday 9 people prayed to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. We had 4 other additions to our church. We have had the best Vacation Bible School we have ever had, as the whole church worked for its success. We are involving a number of people in follow-up. We are looking forward to more professions of faith this Sunday. Our former pastor, Bob Bryan, led one girl to Christ in her home. The girl’s mother promised to attend church with her daughters. Today I will follow up with a young boy who attended VBS with his aunt.

It was great to be with you last night and talk about the role of the Holy Spirit in our lives and abiding in Christ (John 15). Each week I receive a devotional about the believer’s union with Christ. I am forwarding you this week’s version. It talks about the Holy Spirit as the teacher of all things. 

Next week when we meet, let's talk about the commands from Romans 6:11-13. These five commands are the essence of how to lead a victorious Christian life. Let's agree to pray for each other that we will believe John 14:26 and choose for the Holy Spirit to reveal to us many truths and applications concerning these verses.
